IV-ME: The City’s Poshest Hangover Cure?

February 15, 2015

Cast your mind back to last year, when the celebrity craze that was emerging on Instagram showed the likes of Rita Ora, Cara Delevingne, Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne all with drips in their arms. The alarming pictures looked worrying at a first glance, causing fans to cry out in support, but which were then revealed to be an IV-Drip pouring a concoction of vitamins into their bodies. Why? To help keep them fresh-faced despite their jet-set lifestyles. Oh and also help some of their hangovers.

So when I was invited to try out this craze at IV-ME in Knightsbridge this week I jumped at the chance. Although I wasn’t suffering from a debilitating hangover, I did feel in need of an energy boost, I think we all feel in need of that most of the time don’t we? The practice itself was not what I expected – I was imagining a hospital style, stark and uninviting room, but instead it was cosy and glamorous and carried out by the most lovely Dr. David Jack, who I found out carries out ALL his treatments himself (and the list of his treatments is vast – but more on that later).

I decided to go for the ‘Boost-Me’ option: “Boost-ME hydration therapy contains a blend of vitamins, detox agents and energy supplements, plus a healthy dose of anti-aging Glutathione. It floods your body with vitamins, promoting greater wellbeing, boosting energy levels and delivering the mother of all pick-me-ups.” I was asked to sit in the comfortable armchair and was told to expect a small prick of pain as he put the needle in, which you then can’t feel at all. It was actually a rather relaxing experience, as my body was pumped with vitamins for half an hour while I read my book and zoned out. Afterwards, I felt immediately more energetic, in fact I was practically skipping out of the practice and on to my day of meetings, and the following day I noticed my skin appeared brighter and the whites of my eyes were, well, whiter!

Dr. David Jack is also a leading aesthetic doctor offering a wide range of non-surgical treatments. While speaking to him about his profession, I got the impression that this was a man who truly cared about his patients and his work, and was firm in his belief that he would not offer treatment where he felt it was not needed. This is refreshing and if you are thinking of getting any cosmetic treatments then Dr. Jacks is a doctor who will give you an honest opinion, and will help you achieve what you are looking for with his exceptional expertise.

Dr. Jack Offers: Anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, lip enhancement, platelet rich plasma, silhouette soft lift, skin microneedling, hyperhidrosis treatments, teeth whitening, chemical peels and minor surgical procedures, alongside a large selection of exclusive skincare products which are available in clinic and to purchase online.
