My favourite show this week was Jonathan Saunders. Held in The British Museum, the entire experience was grand. The setting was stunning, and the girls cat walked the huge space with immaculate timing, and there was not a single blip or fall throughout the whole show. They wore Christian Loubitin chunky heels and sandals, which meant that rather than worrying about tripping up, they all walked with attitude and confidence. And the music? Giving us goosebumps was the soundtrack to alien horror film Under The Skin.
The collection was a mixture of tomboyish charm and feminine fierceness, with a palette of blues, creams and metallics, with a Japanese undertone. Cropped pants, and and structured styles were paired with embroidery and bow-belts, bringing together the best of the two sexes and creating a perfect androgynous look.
Speaking to the lovely Scottish designer after the show, Jonathan told me he was still sewing and pinning girls seconds before they were going on the catwalk – I can hardly believe it, as the whole production looked absolutely perfect.
