My Make-Up Musts

October 17, 2014

I absolutely LOVE finding new make up and changing my make up routine. I believe that with the change in weather and season, our skin changes too so it’s important to change your make up accordingly. Here are my favourite new products and how I use them:

1. Charlotte Tilbury ‘Filmstar Bronze & Glow’

I love this bronzer palette because it is literally the key to contouring and disguising any puffiness! Use the darker shade for the hollow of your cheeks (point the brush in the direct line from your ear to your mouth to get the right angle), down the sides of your nose (go easy on this though), for the hair line and the jaw line. I then use the highlighter after applying the rest of my make up as a final touch down the front of my nose, under my eyebrows and on my cheek bones to give me a glow.

2. EyeKo: ‘Me & My Shadow’ Shadow Liner, ‘Eye Do’ Mascara, ‘Visual Eyes’ Liquid Eyeliner

I love the EyeKo Products because they make applying smoky eyes so simple! The shadow liner makes it easy to apply a shadow to the whole eye without all the smudgy mess of eyeshadow powders. I then use the liquid eyeliner to create a neat line at the base of the lashes – I like to make this line thin for the daytime and slightly thicker in the evening.

3. Giorgio Armani: Luminous Silk Foundation

A super light and silky foundation, a perfect base for your make up.

4. Kevin Aucoin: ‘The Sensual Skin Enhancer’ Concealer pot

Since the man himself, Kevin Aucoin, was literally the make up artist who INVENTED contouring back in the day – making the likes of Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow stun on the front of magazines, it is no surprise the Kevin Aucoin products are so brilliant that once you use them you literally can’t live without them! I use the concealer pot to contour my face by applying a light layer under my eyes, around my nose and mouth and at the tip of the chin. I then blend this is in by applying my loose powder foundation over the whole face.

5. Chanel: ‘Loose Powder Foundation’ and ‘Healthy Glow Sheer Powder’

I am OBSESSED with the Chanel products because they smell so delicious it is literally like perfume for the face, if there was such a thing. I use the loose powder foundation all over the face after contouring with the Kevin Aucoin concealer and Charlotte Tilbury contouring bronzer. It blends everything together and leaves a matte finish which I love because my skin a little on the oily side. If you have dry skin however, go easy with powder and make sure you apply a really good moisturiser before starting your make up routine. I then apply the Chanel Healthy Glow Sheer Powder on my cheekbones to finish off. I love this one because it gives a natural sun kissed look without being too orange.

6. Chantecaille: Face and Cheek Brush

I really believe that it is important to invest in good brushes. It is vital so that your powders are applied to your face evenly, making sure it doesn’t go blotchy. Having tried and tested quite a few different brands, the Chantecaille are without doubt my absolute must-haves. Unbelievably soft, I use these two brushes to apply my powder foundation and bronzer.
