I was watching one of my favourite TV series ‘Suits’ last night, and I realised one of the reasons why I’m so addicted to it: in series 2-4, every female character, who all work in Law firms in New York, are so impeccably dressed. They just scream glamour, and put the term ‘Power Dressing’ to the forefront. Now, while most of us will not be wearing Roland Mouret dresses and Prada bags to the office, it did inspire me to make more effort when going to work. Not only does it look great, but I really believe that what we wear does change our whole mindset, so when we feel like we are dressed for success, our whole attitude to the day, and to our work, will change with it.
When dressing for work, however, I understand it sometimes seems hard to add in trends because it’s not ‘appropriate’ so use your accessories to do this for you: a metallic bag, an animal print belt, and a pink overcoat.
I would like everyone reading this blog post to wake up tomorrow 30 minutes earlier and put in an extra effort in what you wear to go into work and tell me if you think it changed your day and how. Think pencil skirts, blouses, well fitted suits, court heels, oversized bags, and a splash of trend: animal print, candy colours or florals. Upload a pic when you’ve done it on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag ‘RAWANSTYLING’ so I can check it out!
