Undoubtably my favourite event of the year is the annual Serpentine Summer Party which hosts a fabulous party to celebrate the launch of the new pavilion. This year did not disappoint, and while the art crowd joined together, the fashion army was out in full force. While the men looked dapper in their smart suits, and summer chinos, the women pulled out all the stops in gorgeous dresses by all the best British designers. Luxury vodka Ciroc provided the cocktails, which were Watermelon or Passionfruit Martinis and Summer Slings, while the canapés were a mix of goats cheese croistinis and baked apple.
My date for the evening was the talented and gorgeous Roland Mouret, whose designs were being worn by countless women in the evening including Emma Miller and entrepreneur Caroline Stanbury. I also had the pleasure of meeting two of my favourite designers, Erdem and Christopher Kane, whilst shoe designer Patrick Cox entertained everyone in his daring and ravishing tiger print suit, and designer Nicholas Oakwell attended with Princess Beatrice who was wearing his show-stopping dress.
The entertainment for this year was Pharell (OMG!) who was absolutely sensational with his Damien Hirst dressed backing dancers. He played his hot hit Happy as well as taking us backing in time playing some of his classics such as She Wants to Move. As if we weren’t partied out enough, the night continued to the ever-so-trendy Groucho club in Soho, where the open bar set on two floors ensured everyone had a night to remember.
Here are some pics of my best dressed:
